名称:六角穴付きボルト、別名:キャップスクリュー

〇特徴

 筒状の頭を持ち、頭上部には六角レンチ用の六角穴があいています。軸部の先端から途中までねじが切られているおねじの締結部品です。但し、軸部が短いものは半ねじはなく、全ねじのみとなります。軸部が長いもので、「全ねじ」「半ねじ」の指定がなければ、半ねじとなります。

 締め付けは六角形の棒状になった六角レンチが使用されます。頭が出っ張らないように円い筒状の穴をあけ(座ぐり)そこに頭を埋めるように締め付けることがあります。

〇規格

 JIS B 1176で規定されています。

〇材質

 鉄(SCM435)・ステンレス(SUS304相当品)が広く流通していますが、SUS316L、チタン等の様々な材質品が市販されています。鉄の場合は熱処理をして引張強度を10.9あるいは12.9まであげて強くします。頭部には強度区分が刻印されています。

 鉄の生地は引張強度が12.9で、電気亜鉛めっき等のメッキ品は引張強度を10.9と少し強度を落としています。

〇表面処理

 鉄は生地以外に様々な種類の電気メッキや無電解メッキが多く市販されています。ステンレスは生地以外に茶ブロンズ、黒染め他多数あります。

材質:鉄(主にSCM435)

 機械部品等に使用される鉄は純粋な鉄ではなく、炭素・ケイ素・マンガン・リン・硫黄等の元素が含まれた普通鋼や普通鋼に特殊な元素が加えられた特殊鋼が使用されます。SCM435は普通鋼の中に特殊元素(クロム、モリブデン等)を微量に添加して焼入れ性を向上させた機械構造用合金鋼です。国内で普及している六角穴付きボルト、10.9強力六角ボルト、六角穴付き止ねじ等はSCM435が使用されています。焼入れ性がよいため、焼入れ・焼き戻しをして強度をあげて使用することが多いです。

表面処理:生地

 表面処理を施していない、素材そのままの状態です。鉄の場合は生地の状態では錆が発生するため、通常は防錆油を塗布しています。また、ねじ業界では材質が鉄で熱処理をして黒色酸化皮膜を形成したものを「生地」という場合があります。また熱処理後に黒色酸化皮膜を除去したあとに、表面処理の黒染めを行う場合があり、黒色酸化皮膜+防錆油塗布のものも「生地」と呼ぶ場合があります。
